We to be the pre-primer class of 1942 and 1945 were: Shirley Conley, Zelda Huck, Delores Jenness, Mable Robe- son, Deanna Simmons, George Day, Jerry Huoser, Leroy Jackson, Dickie Woltman and Cecil Shaw. During the year we were sorry to lose Cecil Shaw but were happy to welcome Cora Lee White into our room. One of the first attractions in our room was our grocery store. We brought empty boxes to put on the shelves and we also made our money for the store. Our Holiday fun will be remembered for its good times shared by all. First, we celebrated Halloween when everyone wore black cat maska and made a jack-o- lantern. Then best of all, Christmas and to greet it we enjoyed a beautifully decorated tree. The month of Feb- ruary brought to us Valentine messages. Early in the year our interest was aroused in read- ing when we were provided with HFun with Dick and Janeu and HSunshine and Hain.d We also' enjoyed reading the big story book dhac and Huff.H Je made a scrapbook of our story book friends and dramatized the stories we liked best. The Rhythm Band played for the Christmasprogram, one act plays and the music program. HThe Teymaker's Dreamn was the theme of the Christ- mas program. The scene opened with all the children as toys on the shelf in Santa's work-shop. The jolly' work- men fell asleepg then the toys awoke and were glad. Then Santa Claus came and all the toys fell fast asleep. March found us preparing for the music program and we together with first and second grade chose as our theme HMother Goose on Parade.n As the weather began to show signs of spring we talked about birds and took a field trip to see how many colorful birds we could find. May we the Primer Class remember those happy exper- iences we shared together. HPlease help the teacher understand, That, to their hearts, School is the Promised Lane. A
