Then one sunny day in autumn Robert and Richard Ad- mire stepped across the threshold of our own room. This brought the number in our room to thirty-seven and, with more boys than girls we were especially glad to have Marilyn Lyons transfer from the Correctionville Public School to our school. We were all full of energy and felt a little on the original order. The sixth grade,with the skillful ability of Conrad Lundsgaard and Keith Fee as co-editors compiled a grade newspaper. ' with the first cold nips of winter comes Christmasu Busily engaged in getting ready for our Christmas pro- gram neither boy nor girl had time to be bad, so you can bet that every stocking that was hung by the fireplace was filled to capacity. On the twenty-third of December we presented a play entitled 'The Christmas Chimed with Keith Fee and Robert Ennis playing the parts of the chimes while Beth Pinker- ton played the part of Mother Minnervia. After the pro- gram we enjoyed an exchange of gifts, then parted for our Christmas vacation. With the close of the first semester we were sorry to have two vacant seats in our room. Those desks had been occupied by Conrad Lundsgaard and Janeen Goettsch. One day a blustering wind began to blow and trucks began to whiz by loaded with everything from the family dog to the kitchen frying-pan. Yes, you guessed it ---- moving day was here. Unce again we found ourselves parting with dear friends, They were Mary Frank and Shirley Larson. Luise Tamm and John Perrett helped to fill up the vacant seats in our room. On April ninth the fifth and sixth grade presented a patriotic program entitled UTh1s Is the Army.H The girls dressed in pretty white dresses made an army of red cross nurses while the boys portrayed soldiers. While spring is trying to catch up with us, school comes to a close all too soon and leaves us 'with many pleasant memories of the good times we enjoyed. , 1:1 JIU!
