U 1 4 UUNK: IL' 1 'ffl' ,H ,Q X lr 1U',, xx. A 'Y ' Lf,4:f.?-wtf I V HO 1 1 'N ' HEEHWHHSEEQ HEEWEEEEMWEQQIEFQLHY .- 1 , I JUWUR HIGH . - On September 1, 1942, thirty-one boys and girls assembled in the junior high room to begin again nine months of study. Ten boys and eight girls started together in the seventh grade while seven boys and five girls made up the eighth grade class. Jack Schallau left our seventh grade group to at- tend school in Marcus having completed just six weeks of school. Harold Stevenson also left this group for Wash- ta after attending only six days here. He did, by the way, return again during the fifteenth week of school. Ronald Duncan entered during the fourth week of school to return again to Nebraska during the first part of the second semester. Only one of our eighth grade pupils left the group: namely, Dennis Lundsgaard. Needless to say, we hated to see him leave for Nebraska. Heal Pinkerton came back to Quimby Consolidated from the northern part of the state to enroll in the eighth grade. ' Jack Foresman, Mary Alice Stieneke, and Erma Tamm are three seventh graders who entered late in the school year. At the beginning of the second semester, Tom Hol- lingshead enrolled in thc eighth grade. During the first semester, we had our annual Hallo- ween and Christmas parties. At 'the Christmas program, our room put on the one-act play, nChristmas Across The DI'iVS 0 H Our second semester time was devoted to preparing things for exhibit and working on our grade program,nThe Life of Stephen Foster.n ' ' Three eighth grade girls, Velda Jones, Pauline Mc Coy, and Doris Sevey represented Quimby in the county spelling contest which was held the latter part of Feb- ruary in Cherokee. Our room has tried to help win this war by collect- ing tin cans and buying bonds and stamps. Loren Cor- rington collected most of the tin, and our bonds and stamps totaled Q275.85 up to and including March 24, 1945. Another school year is drawing to a close, and we junior high pupils hope others enjoyed this year as much as we did! ll
