ar' MESSAGE TO TIIE GRADUATES MY DEAR YouNG FRIENDS: To those who have completed a two year course of training, l offer my congratulations and express the hope that you will complete a four year course in one of the many specially equipped central schools so generously provided for you. To us you will remain our students and we shall continue to be interested in your progress. Visit us when you have the urge to do so and you will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome. I wish you well. To you who have completed a four year course, I extend my heartiest felicitaf tions. I have watched you grow from childhood into fine young manhood. I have admired your ambition, your zeal, and your determination to master the techniques that will equip you for service. It is my happy privilege to say to each one of you, VVell done. Many of you will enter the armed forces and will join the thousand other Queens Vocational boys who have reflected such high credit on themselves, their school, and their country. I am glad that as you go to take your places and play your important parts, that the war clouds are at least beginning to break and that the light of peace begins to emerge. VVhether your lor places you in the lighting forces or in industry, you have acquired skills at the QVHS that will stand you in good stead. l am proud of you and know that you will give a good account of yourselves. You go with my thanks for the friendships that you have permitted me to enjoy, for the loyalty you have shown to your school and to me, and with the fervent prayer that God may watch over you while we are absent one from the other. lkflost sincerely your friend and principal, CiHARLES VV. LAFFIN

bedication f u Ni QT ! 469 VVe, the graduating class of June 1945, dedicate this, our year book, to Unity-the unity which binds different color, racial and religious groups into one-Americans. This unity blazed trails, laid tracks, built cities, and saw the establishment of our country. Now unity plays an even greater role as the Allies harmoniously work to unite the world into a brotherhood of nations for the Pre ervation of the peace. Louis A. XZILA 3
