Boar's Head The annual Boar's Head Dinner is one of many fine Queens College traditions at Christmastime. It marks the celebration of an occasion that happened over 600 years ago at Queens College at Oxford, but Queens College at Charlotte has their own version, a most impressive one at that. Formal dress, good food, entertain- ment, and of course the presentation of the Boar's Head are an important part of the festive dinner which is long re- membered by all who share in it. 3.1 Betsy McAulay and Nancy Sorrells herald the coming ofthe Boar's Head. .--7' A I , .,,,,! 7 f' TF ,Nl ,N Flick r, , ir. .X Moravian Love Feast ,l The Moravian love Feast is another Christmas tradition at Queens. lt is a time of sharing with a joyous but serious tone. Held in Belk Chapel, this celebration with coffee, buns, candle lights and Christmas carols can be truly described as a feast of love. 102 vw- Yule Log ' Q 4 I i N . A 'l A ' nl Lf A . 15.1 H The burning of the Yule Log is a happy, but chilly Christmas tradition. A fire is lit, the legend is read, wishes are made with holly sprigs, and the Yule Log is placed on the fire. Then the air is filled with the sounds of voices raised in song, and each student experiences an inner feeling of warmth, joy and love as she shares a fine part of Christmas at 'ole QC. 10 Symposium 1976: Kids, Kin and Karing im Q v .s- . It may be an intellectually challenging affair such as a lecture delivered by some out- standing specialist in his field, or it may be physically challenging such as an all-day hike at Linville Falls. Membership is not reserved to only those who have chosen Biology as a major, but is open to any student who would be interested in participating by attending lectures and seminars concerning some phase of biology, either on our own campus or at other colleges and universities, or, for instance, in serving as ushers for the Audubon Society films shown here on campus. Membership in this lively group also entitles one to join in on Dr. Fehon's Annual Reading Day Spaghetti Din- ner and affords students the privilege of relaxing in the new lounge opened in the Walker Science Building. 48 ' -Y - l ll I 5 r L- Q3 s , President's Board Members: seated - Kathy Haley, Sallie Coker, Genia Weinberg, Daphne Eubankp top - Betsy Hardy, Rita Alvarez, Betsy McAuIay, Frances Doe, Phyllis Mabry, Susan Ellsworth, Melanie Snow. This opera is the story of lennie Parsons who is in love with Brack Weaver. Her mother wishes her to marry Thomas Boucher, a man of better means and standing. jennie's mother forbids lennie to attend a party with Brack and urges her to go with Boucher instead. When lennie does show up with Brack, Brack and Boucher get into a fight. Boucher is killed and Brack is sentenced to die by hanging. It is a tragic tale of love and conflict that is excellently por- trayed by the cast which includes Libby McNeill, Kathy lennings, Alvin lohnson and Darrell Mitchell. The story is by Kurt Weill. 1 ' J L'Angiais Tel Qu'on Le Parle in AX-3 5 bf mfiijf !f ' inner Very interesting, but this situation is most strange is it not?
