Wie spent one year like this, slowly gaining the confidence necessary for sophomores. WE WERE confident last year, for there were ones under us who thought we were the last word. VVC knew what to wear when, how much to study for each professor, which fraternity to date in, how to drop the words Germans, Mid-VVinters, lune Wfeekfl We were sure that our social life was the most important part of life. WJE ARE now juniors and showing the intro spcction which hits and diyes deeply into the minds of us who are deciding-deciding on our major, deciding on the most im- portant yalues in life, deciding whether or not to listen in chapel, whether or not to go the extra mile in studies. VVe think, doubt, rationalize. then think again. But through it all we at last reach a realization of life. WE ARE seniors realizing for the first time that all life is learning. Boarding Student Council Boarding Student Government is based on the belief that the members of the college community desire for themselves growth in selfediscipline and self-control in behavior. Its pur- pose is, therefore to make the campus and the residence halls conducive to this growth and self-control. lts duties are to formulate and enforce regulations, to uphold the merit system, to act as liaison between the boarding students and the ad- ministration. and to assist in planning Freshman Orientation. Page One llumlretl Eifzlit CORONET Once again the end of another CORONET, another year at Queens, and the end of a four-year-period of growth. XVe, on the staff, have tried to show in pictures the development of a girl through her four years at Queens. The activities are placed under the classes according to the importance we felt they played during that year of our life here. The annual is more informal than usual in the hope that each pose will remind you in years to come of something definite in your college life. YVe owe much of the credit of this annual to Marilyn MaeQueen who so uncomplainingly scheduled and rescheduled, took and retook the majority of pictures. Wlithout her and her imagination we would have had nothing. Each staff member, however. is vital to the completion of a yearbook. The weight of the entire book falls on the editor who must see that everything is done. The business manager must see to the money angle while the advertising manager must get ads. Each editor is responsible for her section. Wlithout the encouragement of Mr. Hadley and Miss Miscally, the entire project would probably fall apart. ,Q .5. NUANCES on a Theme by Pound Thank you, whatever comes. Because what you have given me Will last forever. For some, love is theirs for a lifetime To deepen, broaden, mature, To grow ever richer and fuller With the flow of time. For others, the glory of love is theirs For only a minute-a second- Before the dark curtain is drawn And everything is lost. The moments I have shared your love Have been more than most wondrous. The radiance of that love, in this short time, Has illuminated my life And given meaning Where once there was none. This love has tinged with brilliant hues The bleakest shadows of my world, The dark corners of my heart. It has revealed new boundless dimensions, Opened new doors, Shown me new paths, Incited me to strive for nobler, higher goals. All this your love has done, and more: You have thus enriched my life. So thank you, whatever comes. I will lose you, I know, but that gained From knowing you, loving you Will never be lost. -Amelia Alexander '60 Page One Hundred Ten I wish I had one now to give to you to fling over your head as a token- to say the word I've never spoken.
