'lnmulinu Queens College looks towards tomorrow. lt is the to- morrow in which we hope many of our dreams will become realities. Out of our present Queens College, which we love now, we look for the Greater Queens, which will serve ever more efficiently the girls of tomorrow, some of whom may be our own daughters. The clouds of war have darkened our sky, but they will not hang forever over our earth. We believe that our College belongs to those permanent institutions, which will abide because its services will be needed always. A great college is not built overnight. HT UUEEH5 ter, each girl thereby accepting the responsibility of contributing to the organization of her choice. Each group within itself adds some- thing in democracy of spirit to the college, functioning both as an individual unit and as a related part of the whole community. The relationship between students and faculty is a unique one at Queens in that the students and faculty meet on amicable grounds, not only as teacher and pupil, but as real friends. The members of the faculty and administration are ready and capable when called upon to help with personal and group problems, and the students, respecting their experience and judgment, are encouraged to rely on their wise counsels. Furthering the democratic standards at Queens, students are left to choose their vocations according to their interests and abilities, and, with some guidance, to plan a full course centered about the major interest, with some experimentation in other fields. ln keeping with the cardinal ideals of a democracy deep-rooted in the hearts of a people are the standards at Queens which are raised today, to be perfected TOMORROW. rm

l and the Faculty carefully have prepared plans so that each successive step in the future development of the College will lead forward to the completed whole. It will not be a haphazard building program, a jumble of hurried undertakings, which will not fit together. It is rather the building into a master plan where the college of tomorrow will rise slowly as the arches of a cathedral. The Greater Queens must be a cooperative undertaking. Many hands will build through many years. No part, how- ever small, will be unimportant. The larger program will only be successful as every student who enters the College catches up the spirit of Queens and enters with enthu- siasm into the dreams. We face the future-the long, future of the coming centuries. Queens College will havedinpgft in creating that future and may the days to come be better because together we have built wisely well. 1.
