There is no dGflf2l'f9 theme: there are only informal pic- tures of students. faculty, and campus forming the letters of the divisions. This is a book that you yourselves haue made: we offer it for your en- joyment. CONTENTS Book I Book II Book III Book IV Book V ADMINISTRATION . ..,, CLASSES . . ACTIVITIES , . WILLIAM HENRY FRAZER, President Page Eight Dr. Frazer became president of Queens Chicora College in 1921. During his first year. the students received the privilege of self-government. For several years, Dr. Frazer worked to pay off the 560,000 debt: and not con- tent with reaching this goal, he successfully managed to raise an endowment of several hundred thousand dollars. Under his guidance many buildings have been added to the school equipment: the practice house: the Godard's house: the sorority houses: the Day Student house, Blair Union: and the Sara E, Morrison Dining Hall. During Dr. Frazer's administration the library has been extended from twelve hundred to approximately fifteen thousand volumes, the curriculum has been advanced in many ways. and, as a crowning event, Queens Chicora was admitted to the Southern Asso- ciation of Secondary Schools and Colleges in 1932. Dr. Frazer's ability lies along more than just these material lines. He also has extended the name and patronage of Queens Chicora College through- out the South. DR. SAMUEL C. When we were admitted to Queens-Chicora College four years ago, no one of us realized how quickly four years could pass. What has seemed short in pass- ing must be crowded with interesting events to seem long in retrospect so that we cannot hope to recall completely the gaiety. sobriety, fun, and work that have filled our last four years. Our class leaders for four years here have been outstanding ones on our be- loved campus. Lucille fAshley, now! Dulin was our versatile chairman in our weaker freshman days. Mary Currie, who was sophomore class president among other things, showed her capability and dignity by being elected presi- dent of our Student Government Association. Witty Lil' Smith fone of the clever Smith sisters! has been our much to be admired leader for two consecu- tive years. Every student organization. we believe, has profited by meeting members of our class. Because of her sympathetic understanding of our prob- lems. we will be forever grateful to Mrs. J. L. McEwen, our class adviser. There are those events in these last four years that will put a smile in our eyes and rhythm in our walk, even if we live to be our four score and ten years young. fYes, we intend to stay youngfl lncluded in these souvenir events are such things as the Sophomore-Senior breakfast, Dr. Kratz's teas for students, Alpha Kappa Gamma's impressive tapping ceremonies, the Thursday chapel talks. the Christmas parties, especially the ones sponsored by the Home Eco- nomics Department, the Community Concerts, Wednesday night formal din- ners, the Queens Players productions. football weekends, the opening of Senior Hall, the radio programs recently established under Dean Godard's competent guidance, and last but not least of our kaleidoscopic view is our own gloriously exciting Senior Week. Page One Hundred Forty-six Stunt Night was one of the most thrilling times of the year. The cup went to us in our Sophomore year for our ethereally exquisite Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp . This year we were wild with joy when we won the cup with one of our favorite childhood fairy stories - Hanzel and Gretelnf done in weird and whimsical marionette style. May Day was one of the most anticipated days on our annual calendar. Our class has had the joy of possessing some of the queen's most beautiful attendants. This year our heart fills with pride when we think of our Helen Jenkins and her grace. dignity, and glowing charm, But let me warn you: May acts very much like April-smiles one minute and tears the next with the unexpected almost always happening. There's only one more hurdle to leapgyes, we mean examinations. There's always effort-more or lessgat such a time as a hectic week of examinations. We feel that we have gained by this requirement, however menacing it may have appeared at the time. Our achievements, of course. are as varied as there are members of our class, What we have gained is scarely measured by cold factual evidence on record cards. Why? Because besides growing mentally, we have grown spiritually and socially. Scholarship is a most difficult something to measure. There have been changes in us both as individuals and as a class. The edu- cational process begun here on our beloved campus has necessarily been colored by the attitudes, ideals, and standards of our friends both among professors and students. We know that the future is always uncertain. However, we sincerely hope for each of us that our education will continue to be toward that solid goal of an integrated personality in a distintegrated world . By DORIS JOINES. They are living better, more comfortably, without the drudgery, labor and worry that attend the old methods-they are actually LIVING BETTER for LESS. It costs the average family less per day than the cost of a single package ot' Cigarettes to cook electrically. Automatic hot water service through an electric auto- matic water heater is available also to the average family for less than the price of a package of cigarettes per day, The cost of electric automatic refrigeration to the average family is little more than the cost of a package of chewing gum per day. Electric refrigeration, electric ranges, electric water heaters-any of these ap- pliances of the makes you are likely to desire may be had on terms to fit your budget. Easy to buy-inexpensive to operate-and yet they bring indescribable comfort and freedom from work and worry.
