His co-workers in this unprecedented venture are equally prominent Queensites, Dr. Henry Miller, of the De- partment of Economics, and Dr. Edmund Woods, of the Department of Biology. All in all, the history of sports at Queens College has ben an eminently successful, if short one. Stimulated by coaches and students who gave unselfishly of their time and effort, sports have risen to a position of respect and esteem on campus and oFf. Today, Queens can boast of as fine an athletic record and program as any small college in the country, and it can still boast an unblemished aca- demic standing. Only when sports can mix successfully with studies, can they sincerely be said to be deserving of a place in college life, and it is this happy, enviable position that Queens College finds itself today.
