The annual retreat this year was con- ducted by Monsignor O'Connor. Monsignor opened each conference with a prayer asking God for assistance and guidance. Monsignor covered a great many subjects. Some of the topics which he discussed were, Our state in life, 'iTruth,', 6Making a good confession and communionf' and The need for pen- ance. During the talks Monsignor quoted frequently from Holy Scripture to prove his points, and used'very vivid descrip- tions to enliven the imaginations of his listeners. The retreat was brought to a successful close with general Communion on Friday morning, with the Papal Blessing given by Monsignor, and with Holy Beuediction of the Blessed Sacrament. -ec ffl.
