If I had the opportunity to greet each of you individually, this is what I would say: Congratulations -- on being who you are, a xmique human being capable of making a special contribution to our nation and the world. Congratulations on being fortunate enough to have parents and teachers and administrators who care deeply about you. t I don't have to tell you what the future holds for you. You know that life has responsibilities as well as rewards, failures as well as successes, tzagedies as well as Joys. You know that our nation offers' splendid opportunity -- and faces grave problems. ' On your commencement day, then, the important question is what you hold for the future. I am confident that your special and irreplaceable qualities of mind and heart and spirit will contribute to the building of a strong, free and just nation and a peaceful world.
