his year has marked the passing of another significant milestone in the progress of the educational program at Queen Anne. lt has afforded the most challenging and satisfying experi- ence of my career in education. Stimulating experiences resulting from daily contacts with the line faculty, clerical and custodial staffs, pupils, and parents have all combined to make this year a most pleasant one, and have brought into sharp focus the great opportunity that is ours to assist in implementing the educational program for the youth that it is our privilege to serve. The cooperation and the very friendly spirit which prevail up and down the corridors of this building and in the community at large have contributed much to the achievement of our educa- tional objectives. We look forward to the year that lies ahead with enthusiasm, renewed vigor, and a sincere desire to achieve the highest goals in education in keeping with the finest ideals and the highest traditions of Queen Anne High School. - 'WALTliR H. PETER ARSANTO WILLARD O. BAKER MARGARET BLANCIIARD CATHARINE BREVIG E N L I K E the record of a high school football team, the success of the high school faculty cannot be determined in the won and lost column or over such a brief period as a year or even several years. The achievements of a faculty are rather measured in the ability of the students whom they instruct to cope with the vicissitudes of twentieth- century living. The outstanding record of Queen Anne alumni in every held of endeavor e business, religion, government, professional life, and industry--marks the Queen Anne faculty as a truly remarkable group. Though its achievements are not so easily enumerated as are those of the football squad, the faculty is itself a team working together for a common goal. Each department of the high school intermeshes its efforts with those of every other department to produce a well-rounded and straight-thinking citizen of tomorrow. Thus, the Queen Anne faculty, working as a team, seeks to develop each individual-mentally, physically, and morally. The Queen Anne English department, largest of the nine subdivisions, seeks to acquaint students with fine literature and encourage them in the 21I't of self-expression through language. For those with special interests and talents, journalism, drama, and creative writing courses are offered. History courses provide preparation for the responsibilities and privileges of the CLYDE BURMASTER JESSIE BUTLER wanna :mum nmssr M. cunuun Qi 11 EUGENE BROWN
