,--2 x To epitomize the annals of forty years of Queen Anne in these few words can only sound like a telegram. Our school started with something akin to the spirit of the Forty'Niners in the desire of the students to move forward and achieve. The opening day found the building HCI complete, but enough so to carry on the regular curricular work. Within a couple of months all the extra curricular activities were a going concern. Of the original teaching stall, only one member, Mr. Uhl, is still teaching. One other, Mr. Fleming, is engaged in educational work as Superintendent of Schools. The beginning number of 550 students increased to a World War II maximum of 2300g at this time we had 500 students from District 51 north of the city. The annex built in 1928 enabled us to take care of this number. Several volumes contain the accounts and clippings of Queen Anne students who have attained distinction, but we have never lost sight of the fact that the real worth of a school is established by the unnumbered students that go unheralded and unsung to their tasks in life and make good and lceep Americas enterprise going. Eauieafrlun ?his year, Qieen Anne's fortieth anniversary, marks forty years of faithful service by our principal, Mr. Otto L. Luther. Ever since the Hilltops school first opened her doors, Mr. Luther's main concern has been the mental and physical welfare of students and teachers alike. He has guided Qieen Anne's policies and activities wisely, thoughtfully, and not without a touch of keen wit, always with the idea of making our school one which offers the best kind of academic and social program to its students.
