LEAVING US Terminating their careers at ueen Anne this year are M1ss Bertha Winn and Kenneth Campbell. They have been a constant source of 1nsp1rat1on to us and we hate to see them go. But we will remember them for their patience and sincere interest as well as the extra time which they gave so generously Miss Winn came here in 1938 from West Seattle where she was class counselor, teacher's welfare head, and helped with the school paper. Here at Queen Anne she taught English. After her retire- ment Miss Winn expects to go into some kind of work where she can help returning soldiers End themselves again. Mr. Campbell taught us skillfully for eighteen years, and gave us a part of his wholesome person- ality and philosophy. He taught biology and pre-flight. Through his work as class advisor, for many years, he became a sincere friend of the students. The Rod 'n' Reel Club, of which he was advisor, felt his influence and he succeeded in interesting many students in the sport which he loved. Due to eye trouble he has left Queen Anne. He is now pursuing one of his favorite hobbies, farming. We wish him luck in his new endeavor. 181

With the passing of Raoul Brink., Queen Anne has lost a great man and a true friend. For a quarter of a century his genial personality and elfective methods of teaching have made his foreign language courses exceedingly popular. llis friendliness. his sense of humor, and his genuine interest in others endeared him to the hearts of all who knew him. llis Sunny outlook on life, his cheerful Smile, and his clever little jokes lent an informal and congenial air to his classes. Although he has left us, we will never forget the kindness and sincerity of this man, whose memory will never fade from our hearts. None knew thee but to love thee, Nor :mined thee but to praise. fFitz-Greene Halleck. PAT TOW1'NSEND, BERTHA STASTNY.
