Our theme: THE HILLBILLY lt is tempting in these troubled times to choose the theme of Schools at War and it is easy to use those pictures that remind us of the world's present chaos. Rather we would like to depict the present affliction in a lighter sense. Everyone has had a chance to experience a few of the inconveniences of war. Rationing of gasoline fand shoesj, lack of manpower, shortages of films, fiashbulbs, rubber cement, and paper all contribute to the trials of an annual staff. By exaggerating these inconveniences and adding a note of levity we felt reduced to the simple life of those interesting mountain people, the Hillbillies. If we have for a moment given a bit of relaxation in this time of strife and worry, our annual will be worth the time and effort put forth. THE STAFF. I 9 J
