40' lbs 'Ss ,D TOMMY GOVE JIMMIE KALDAL JERRY SCHILLREFF Vice-President President Secretary AN BUD coRCOR K Coi Blldli' reasufef UUY Represirllxg' ve Senior dass History S WE sailed out from Frosh lsland, the class of '40 started on its four-year cruise with all the enthusiasm any freshman class could muster. During the first year of our merry adventure we sailed under Skipper Bob Hass with his crew of Jim Kaldal, Belle Muir and Doris Cook. We were duly proud of Dorothy Reynard, Jim Kaldal, and Dorothy Short, our own thespians, who figured well in the ship's entertainment. Many of our other shipmates played large parts in giving the class of '40 Honorable Mention in the Logbook for that year. The beginning of our second year gave us a superior feeling, no longer were we freshmen. Sophomore Island was ours. Under the leadership of Jim Kaldal, Ruben Johnson, Jack Corcoran, Bob Hass, and Joanne Mersereau, we saw many of our classmates taking main parts in Seventh Heaven, Kapers and the operetta. Bill Code, Don Rogers, Andy Tuson, Don Milli- kan and Snuffy Smith handled our athletics with great finesse. We have landed on Junior Island. That poise and self-satisfied look is because we have braved the storms of Green Bay and suffered sea-sickness on our journey from Sophomore to Junior Island. Now we are upper classmen, immune to nearly anything. Our stay here was particularly interesting. We won the track and tennis championships and tied for second place in baseball, We elected Jim Kaldal as captain again, with a crew of Bill Corcoran, Amy Hetherington, Walt Madden, and Dorothy Segale to aid him. Our first junior-senior mixer in the ship's lunchroom was a huge success. We jitterbugged with the best of them . . . even better than the seniors, we thought. When it came to those dramatic entertainments aboard ship we were ELEANOR BECK DON ROGERS Treasurer Kuay Representative BENNY MATSUMOTO JIMMIE KALDAL BILL CORCORAN Vice-President President Secretary Brix 1-' -I .
