The surprise that she pulled in track, though, macle a good many sit up and take notice. Against Broadway's team of twenty-five men, Lincoln's thirty-five and Ballard's, the Queen Anne team, consisting of six men, came out second Broadway was far in the lead taking all First places save three two of which went to ueen Anne and the other to Franklin lmmy Bryan was the star Orange and Maroon man After a lon session at the shot the result proved to be a victory for lmmy who put the cannon ball forty one feet ten inches With a great many entering the high jump started in the same way Soon it slmmered down to just a few and finally to Bryan of ueen Anne Egtvet of Broadway now jumping for first place After many unsuccessful and tiring attempts on the part of both the bar was lowered slightly The Broadway man jumped first and missed Then lmmy took his start at the standards jumped and cleared it easily making another first to his credit Allan Hunter captain of the team finished second in the low hurdles and third ln the high esse Douglass after a debate wlth members of the Lincoln Broad way and Ballard teams came out second in the pole vault which was the longest event of the day Neterer a Broadway man Jumped ten feet for first and esse took second with nine feet ten inches immy Parker came up from behind ln a whirlwind finlsh in the quarter mile and crossed the tape third completing ueen Annes number of points which totaled twenty Practically all these points are due to the efforts of Coach Wells It was through his showing the boys how to do their various stunts that they were able to place because nearly all of them knew nothing of the form which in track means everything lt is a well known fact that if you get a thing right you are then able to do it more quickly and this applles most rigidly to track 41 m ms' Q 4, X, I X V LM' W' gffj 174 4X I Page one hund ed forty l , ' .
