The Council, composed of president, vice president, secretary, treasurer. and social chairman, sets standards for the entire school. Meetings are held once a month to consider the Constitution, Library, and other pertinent nlatters. The aim is to help other students fit into the life at Queens and to raise standards of wrong-doers. Demcrits given to a student are not a punishment hut a means of helping her to improve her conduct. The organization controls student actions through stu- dent participation in government.
