gkrence Wgdfinga e From her earliest youth Florence Nightingale felt the urge to nurse, and in this field she did her most valiant and greatest work. She shaped her work upon organization of training schools for nurses and adequate hospitals, always alert to ways of improving the nurs- ing profession. She strove to place herself in the position of both the nurse and the patient and to arrange nursing accordingly. It is after her untiring and valiant effort that our training schools are patterned today. She gave the nurse a code and pledge whereby she strives to practice her profession faithfully, loyally, and open mindedly. As we commence our professional duties, her valiant work and words will always remain with us as an inspiration. IIl.Il55E5
