Our Speaks It was a real inspiration to stu- dents and teachers to move into our new building and use the many fine facilities provided for us. A spirit of pride, appreciation, and cooperation by all students has been evident throughout the school year. I hope that these high ideals as portrayed by picture and printed mater- ial in this yearbook, will become tra- ditional in Quapaw lligh School. Don G. McDonald ..v-4' i .7-,. V GRADE SCHOOL MESSAG Startling world-wide events of the past year have brought home to Americans just how extremely vital education for survival has become. Producing scientists and engi- neers for the coming space age may seem far removed from elementary edu- cation but in the final analysis edu- cation does begin on the elementary level. Education must broaden the scope of its offerings in order to meet the needs of all its leamers. Most impor- tant, it must minister to the wholeper- sonality of the child, not just to his intellect. We are proud that Quapaw's school system is meeting this challenge to progress in education. We have ade- quate space to accommodate all six grades and an auditorium for music classes and programs. Our classrooms are newly decorated and eq uipped with modern lights and new juniorexecu- tive type desks. 'Viola B. Mason, Principal

It's also coffee time for Madeline Myers, Mildred Buzzard, Clelia Price, and Lucile Looney. REFRESHMENT TIME Is it a coke or coffee break?? Today it is coffee for the teachers, and Bob Kesler, jack Langley, j.C. Price, Superintendent, jack Mil- ler, Gene Snow, and Flip McDonald, Princi- pal, seem to be enjoying it. 'N It really is coke break time. For proof, just view the enthusiastic gathering around the pop machine. This is a beautiful sight to the juniors. They receive the revenue from this machine.
