SCHOOL CALENDAR September 9-School days, school days, dear old Gold- en Rule days. Kids started to school with a reso- lution to study hard on reading, writing and arithmetic. September ll--Pep leaders chosen with plenty of pep to lead the school to victory. September 13-To start our football season with a bang Quanah, beat Memphis 24-0 September 21-We followed up our victory over Memphis by beating CrowQl with the same score. September 27-Dark days for Quanah Hi. Bqrger beat us 31-0, though no fault of ours. October 4-After hard fought game, Gainesville de- feated Quanah 13-0. October 8-Ennie, meenie, minie, moe, to which club shall I go? Today clubs were organized to this tune. October 11-Hurrah! We won again by defeating Phillips 7-0. October 17-A happy day for the Seniors. They got their rings and were they pretty! October 18-Vernon beat Quanah by a freak acci- dent-7-6. October 23-Kelley, Whited heads annual staff with The Chief chosen as a permanent name. October 25-The Civic League got off to a good start with Johnson, Owen and Wells to lead. November 1-Wichita beat Quanah 16-7. November 5-Home room officers chosen. November 7-Wall, Kelley and Preston chosen as Pepsi-Cola scholarship contestants. November 8-Run boys! If we're caught we're daid ducks 'cause this is Sadie Hawkins Day. Novemebr 8-Graham beat Quanah 46-0. November 14-Patsy Respess chosen as Rotary Club Sweetheart. November 22-Again victory reigned in Q. H. S as We beat Electra 20-13. ' November 27-School is out for the first holidays of the year Wtih a big turkey dinner and a warm feeling around our heart when we beat Childress 6-0. December 19-Basketball season begins. December 20-Santa Claus is coming to Q. H. S. Christmas spirit was high and whose wouldn't be-two whole weeks of fun! January 8-Almarie Wall chosen as D. A. R. candi- date. January 15-Three Indians were chosen on the District football team. January 17--Walser and Conley win out on Favorite Contest. January 20-All the Indians, in full head-dress, brought their squaws to the Football Banquet. January 21-13-Cram! Cram! That's what everyone did this week as those dreaded mid-term exams came around. February 5-Norton and Watkins receive gold basket- balls for outstanding playing. February 718-Civic League took trip to Highland Park Convention. February 14-Hearts and flowers was the theme for the special Valentine assembly. Owens crowned Valentine Queen March 3-Senior Play. cast, and director chosen. March 17-Most all the school was for the Red Cross 10070. March 21-Lazy days are here again as Spring makes her appearance. March 31-Spring training begins. April 1-Junior Play cast chosen. April 4-Choral Club gave special Easter assembly with style show. April 12-Students to Amarillo for declamation meet. April 16-Teachers Take-Off. April 18-Senior Play Wedding Spells. A big suc- cess. April l9-Students attend Ice Capades in Fort Worth. May l-Senior Pay Assembly. May 9-Choral Class to Amarillo to Interscholastic League Contest. Jr.-Sr. Banquets. May 16--Thanks to the Juniors for one of the best banquets. May 22-Seniors celebrated Apron and Overall Day. May 23-Senior Class Day. Annuals issued. Seniors go on all day picnic May 25-Baccalaureate. May 29-Commencement night. The long wished for and hard earned diplomas will be given to 67 seniors.
