Club '42-'43-'44-'45g Choral Club '46-'47, anishes all that early morn- I HISTORY OF THE SENIOR CLASS I was looking over some old annuals the other day when I saw some familiar faces of the Freshmen in the one of 1943 and '44. They seemed to take me back to that year when we were Freshmeng when John Flynn, T. W. McKoy, and Barbara Wells were the leaders of the class. When we thought we knew everything, but we didn't know what was ahead. I remember the good times we had along with all the trouble we got into. Then I remembered what hap- pened in January! It happened again in May. That was exams! But somehow we got by them all right and after it was all over, they didn't seem so bad after all. As my thoughts went on to the next year when we were Sophomores, I looked in the annual of 1944- '45. On the first page of the Sophomore section were the pictures of the President Roger McMenamy, Vice- President L. O. Whitfield, and Secretary Kameal Tay- lor, who were the officers for that year. By that time we were learninglthe ways of High School and were wanting to go on ahead. Soon we found ourselves nearly out of Algebra and World History, but first - I there were the exams! Then the summer vacation. Soon we would be Juniors. As I turned to the Junior pages of the Annual of 1945-'46, I thought of Roger McMenamy, Billy Bump- ass, and Wayne Johnson, who led the class for that year. We worked hard that year on Geometry, as well as on raising money for the banquet The ban- quet was a success, and was enjoyed by all. Again it was time for exams and the summer vacation. We realized then it wouldn't be long until we would be Seniors, our last year in high school. With this in mind I thought of last September when we entered school as Seniors. I remembered the foot- ball games that we attendedg the day we got our Senior rings, and mid-term exams! With Miss Burle- son and Miss Wey as our sponsors, Wayne Johnson as President, Billy Bumpass as Vice-President and How- ardene Bridendall as secretary, we had very good leadership for our Senior year. It has been a happy year with the Senior play and the banquet given by the Junior class. The main thought with everyone now is GRADUATION!!!
