The Girls Athletic Association again enjoyed a successful year. The girls competed against such high schools as Coraopolis, Bellevue, and the Sewickley Academy. They participated in such sports as volley- ball, basketball, bowling, and softball. With the help of Mrs. Olinger and Miss Branney, these sports provided much satisfaction and enjoyment to all the members. The ofiicers for 1968-69 were Joanne Jameson, President, Anita Klaric, Vice-President, Sandy Steup, Secretary, and Nancy Hooper, Treasurer. The Dance Band, sponsored by Mr. Iacobucci, this year preluded the school plays and participated in the Bandwagon. Quaker Valley Band's finest musicians compose the Dance Band, which is noted for its jazzy numbers. G.A.A.- ance Band

German Club is one of the more active clubs, even though it doesn't meet every week. The officers, Dan Challis-Presidentg Gary Ruprecht-Vice-Presidentg and Jane Leonard-Secretary-Treasurer, often conducted their meetings in German. Members learn about Germany and its language via various films, pictures, and tapes. Mr. Adams, the club sponsor, who has traveled extensively throughout Germany, enriches the meetings with many personal anecdotes. ' The main annual event of the club is the Language Festival at Buhl Planetarium, in which all the club members reveal their hidden talents in competition with other schools. Library Club, a new addition to the activity roster, and Library Aides spend a lot of time and study halls in the library. Both clubs are dedicated to broaden its members' knowledge of the library and its related occupations. With the guidance of Miss Scheehan, the clubs are making plans for a handbook to aid the student in his library work. The clubs are also planning a field trip to the Hillman Library and the Hunt Botanical Library. Though small in number, these two clubs are large in enthusiasm. German Club-Librar Aids Club
