Wm The Future Homemakers of America, sponsored by Mrs. White, is an organization formed to promote goodwill in the home, school, community, and world. This year the club made kits for soldiers in Vietnam, sponsored a Mother-Daughter Tea, helped in Teacher Appreciation Day, and orga- nized skating parties with neighboring FHA groups. Because they were affiliated with the state organization, FHA members at- tended county meetings, and were asked to host the state meeting this year which will be held in Pittsburgh. Their goal is Toward New Horizonsf' The officers this year are: president, Denise Calloway, vice president, Marianne Stein, secretary, Nancy Astorinog and treasurer, Valerie Barnhart. is Charm Club, one of the new clubs at Quaker Valley, was devoted to helping its members seek new ways of self-improve- ment. Mrs. Harris aided by guest speakers, F.H.A., Charm Club sponsored the club and taught the girls about proper etiquette and good appear- ances.

The purpose of the Red Cross is to provide desirable moral, civic, and demo- cratic growth through service to the com- munity, and the under-privileged? Under the direction of Mrs, White, the Red Cross members made tray favors, friendship boxes, puppets, and scrapbooks which were distributed by the Pittsburgh oilice. This year the Quaker Valley chapter all picked a delegate to spend one week this summer at the Grove City Leadership Conference in order to gain new ideas for next year's projects. How to buy and how to care for a car were discussed in Auto Club. The classifi- cation of cars at races and drags was also considered. Mr. Hailstock and Mr. Och sponsored this club which was new this year. Red Crossg Auto Club

This year, membership in the Art Club was open to students having an interest or future plans in the field of art. Each appli- cant was evaluated by a committee chosen by Mrs. Chantler, sponsor of the club. As always, Art Club gave artistic students a chance to use their talents every Tuesday in the activity period. ,, at 955 3 JY! . fxyfb K. XF iv J Jil VKX ' A, U 1 .. .v- N. X2 ' Every Tuesday, in true Count Basie fashion, the Quaker Valley Dance Band met to practice everything from rock and roll to the big band sound. After patient and meticulous preparation, the object of the year's practice was realized when the Dance Band performed for the Thespian production of Take Her She's Mine. It also played a part in the annual pops concert presented by the band. From Dance Band, the members gained experience, confidence, and enjoyment under the direction of their leader, Mr. Iacobucci.
