How- ever this year as in the past club members proved to be successful businessmen. They sponsored bake sales as a means of support- ing the A F S program. The club pur- chased Swiss and West German flags to represent our 1967-68 exchange students. The Spanish Club also donated seventy-five dollars to the A F S general fund. The aim of French Club is to give French students an opportunity to expand their knowledge of the language, life and culture of the French people and the history of the country. The unique feature of this club was that it had an executive board, rather than a cabinet of officers which made de- cisions. Each grade level had representatives on the board based on the number of stu- dents in the club, and the rules and regula- tions were based on a constitution which the members had formed. Monthly com- mittees planned activities. These activities included taking imaginary trips to cities and provinces through tapes and records, and hearing speakers such as the French speaking foreign exchange student from Switzerland, Jean Walder. The club,s spon- sor, Miss McFarland, provided the club with records which she brought back from France and with her vast knowledge of the country. WOM L .
