Eighty-seven strong, this year's band was once again one of the schoolis most de- manding and rewarding organizations. A head-start at summer band camp paid off in the excellent half-time and pre-game shows, both at home and away. Once again the band marched in the Fourth of July parade, the annual Halloween parade, the Harvest Festival parade, the WIIC parade in Pitts- burgh, Horne's Santa Claus parade, and the Memorial Day parade. 'N sented the annual Christmas concert, an in- vitational concert including the Center High School Band, the Sewickley Sym- phony, and Quaker Valley, a Pops assem- bly, and Bandwagon '68'l. Quaker Valley was represented at Dis- trict Band by Carol Krane and Alec Booth, and at Regional Band, again by Alec. Competing with an established reputa- tion, this yearls band managed to surpass former performances and remain a source of pride for everyone involved. , 'z 4, .4 -' The Q.V.H.S. Chorus for the 1967-68 school year culminated in membership this year boasting nearly 90 choraliers. Their lead- er, Mr. Leon Szura, led the chorus in success- ful programs for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays. Leading the school in Christmas Caroling was another of the chorus' diversified activities. The chorus also partici- pated in a song fest, hosted by Sewickley Academy, and presented various songs for the Episcopalian Century Club. The annual oper- etta, a musical comedy, year in early April. was presented this Okay, everybody sing! Chorus 46
