As always, the Key Club, our service organization sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Sewickley, spent a zealous, hard-working year, performing such functions as patrol- ling home basketball games, providing maps for away athletic events, and doing many odd jobs around the school. The club once again sponsored the fun-filled Key Club Midway during the Harvest Festival, which proved to be both profitable and enjoyable. The members participated in inter-club basketball league, and senior members and oflicers attended the state convention held in Pittsburgh this year. Mr. Schroth, who worked many long hours with the boys, and the Kiwanis Club merit praise for their enthusiastic sponsor- ship of the club. Once again Quaker Valleyls weekly news- letter Quaker Quill has enjoyed much popu- larity with the student body. Found weekly in the Herald, The Quill has carried inter- esting and informative articles, all a result of an enthusiastic and industrious stall. One of the new activities at Quaker Valley this year was the Photography Club. All of the involved students, under the direction of Mr. Peluso, were first instructed in the fundamentals of cameras and other photographic equipment. Guest speakers lectured about modern methods of Photog- I raphy, and as the year progressed, the mem- bers became acquainted with the various procedures involved in setting up, shooting, and developing pictures. The members lind the Photography Club not only instructive but also very enjoyable and worthwhile. The Rod and Gun Club, under the direc- tion of Messrs. Schroth and Timney, was formed this year for field and stream en- thusiasts. The club enjoyed guest speakers and learned the safety laws that govern Photography Clubg these outdoor sports. Although the members were confined mostly to the classroom area, they tried their hand at target shooting and fishing during the latter part of the year. od 8: Gun Club
