Membership in Troup 421 of the National Thespian Society in the highest honor that a Quaker Valley actor or actress can attain. The membership requirement is active participa- tion in one or more high school playsg new members are elected and then initiated in an elaborate ceremony. For the 1966-1967 stage season the Q.V. Thespians, directed by Mrs. Elizabeth Koehler, Went Shakespearean in the autumn with The Taming of the Shrew and slapstick in the spring with Pure as the Driven Snow, which was presented too late to be included in the 1967 Quotes. Drama Club's chief aim is to aid students in developing their dramatic talents. This year's members spent many enjoyable hours reading and discussing plays. During the latter part of the year they discussed make-up application and then tried their hand at the grease paint with willing victims. Tliespiansg Drama Club

The Latin Club Worked diligently in an effort to supplement its members' knowledge of the Latin language and Roman culture this year. Memoranda, the club's own bimonthly news- paper, featured articles on such varied topics as Hercules, basketball, and biology. In addi- tion, a number of the members sent projects to the Buhl Planetarium Latin Show. Steve Ack- mann and Ken Addison Won prizes. Although an increased ability to speak Spanish and a wider experience in the Spanish- Latin American culture were its chief goals, the Spanish Club earned quite a reputation as a group of bakers and salesmen. gPo'r que? For the second consecutive year the club sponsored a series of bake sales each Friday after school for several weeks. The proceeds went to pur- chasing Thai and Finnish flags to add to the collection of A.F.S. flags in the main hall and to making a contribution to the local A.F.S. chapter. 33 Language Clubs

A select grou of the most ualified and interested art students, the Art Club attem ts u q I n u P to learn advanced techniques not normally taught in daily art classes. Entrance requirements are submission of examples of personal art work and composition of an essay on the posi- tion of an art club in the high school scene. This year members met during activity period and on Tuesda evenin s. As its main ro'ect the club com leted a mural in the cafeteria, I - Y S ' P J I P depicting the purchase from the Indians of the land which later became Quaker Valley School District. Among the new activities introduced this year, Folk Music Club probably reigned as the most unpredictable. Each week a program committee of three or four members surprised the rest of the club with a program of varied folk songs. The membership was occasionally hon- ored to have special guests display their talent in folk music. The members learned to appre- ciate the different aspects of international folk music.
