morle Long ago it must be I have a photograph Preserve your memories They’re all that’s left you ' V , ' • ■ 3 5 We are an end in ourselves. Our lives are a book, open or closed; each has their own story to project or protect. In th is respect we are a bookend, wanting to be recognized for all that we have to offer to the world. k f 4 V f k V f x l Cr f ' Jfe, . j V 1 tijfe x I fi | ■■■ wJEir S ujy l f L 4 81 j 1 r .j j «Jpi L - w - M l H If §i? %; ■ ph -m W r • ffw. During that change, Mr Trask has always demonstrated en- thusiastic involvement with the student body, be it .it a concert, a field hockey game, a pancake breakfast, etc The driving force in his life — causing young people to learn how to learn — has been felt by all of us starting on the first day we entered Kindergarten. For that, we thank him. In every possible w ' ay, Mr. Trask has exceeded what is expected of his position, and it is that tremendous dedication which makes him such a valuable asset to the Quabbin community. It has been with Mr Trask ' s guidance and understanding that we now have a school that we can all take pride in. With much gratitude for his constant devotion to our school, we dedicate our yearbook to him. Throughout the past years, Cathleen Scanlan has given her boundless support and devotion to our school in so many ways, that it is time to recognize and thank her for it. As a teacher, Mrs. Scanlan welcomed many of us into Quabbin as her students. At that time we couldn ' t have realized how important she was to us, but as we look back now, we under- stand that it was she who shared the initial responsibility of molding us into mature young adults. It was Mrs. Scanlan who, with patience and understanding, helped us to develop as in- dividuals who take pride in themselves. Mrs. Scanlan has now declined from being the yearbook advisor, after many years of dedicated service. However, she is still always there to answer questions or give advice when we are in need. With many thanks to Mrs. Scanlan, we dedicate our yearbook to her. 13 As we, the class of 1986, graduate from Quabbin, we are not closing the door behind us, yet ending a natural teenage cycle, for the past six years the class of 1986 has definitely made its presence known at Quabbin. There were moments when our energy was overbearing, but those instances have developed into memories that each and every one of us will never be able to forget. Thank you. Guertin, Advisor Remember a few years later, We thought we were divine. We teased the first grade babies, ' At the ripe old age of nine. Remember back in sixth grade. We looked at Him with a sigh. And dreamed of all the coming days In the huge new junior high. Now it’s eons later As graduation day draws near, We think of bittersweet memories, And remember yesteryear Remember the hellos and laughter. Talk over all our fears. Reflect on learning and sharing Before the goodbyes and tears. Graduation Remember back in first grade, We thought we were so old, The day that we had show-and-tell And brought in some fool ' s gold. Like other classes, we tried to prove ourselves The Best. ' unlike other classes, we succeeded. Teenagers tend to concern themselves with all the vital aspects of life: fame, fortune, entertainment and, of course, food. The Class of ' 86 was no exception. Our class has participated in various events ranging from pizza and spaghetti sales to chocolate covered donuts. These nutrifying events were relative to suit our entertainment purpose as well. One may ask, what should we do this weekend? We could go to the dance featuring The Twilight Zone, after we arrange a date through the Class of 86 Computer Dating Service. Or we could prepare for the Junior Prom by selling candy bars until the tickets are paid for. And if that ' s not enough, since its revival, we have the Senior Bazaar to look forward to. What ' s a better way to seek revenge upon the math teacher who failed you than sinking him in the dunking booth! Fame and fortune are synonomous words in our class ' vocabulary. Everything we ' ve tried has profitted and been a memorable success. A perfect example — the Superbowl Raffle It ' s amazing how a simple ' ' raffle can produce such uplifting results. Our four short years have been prosperous spiritually, as well as financially. As freshmen, we were content with our $900 ac- count. Yet we dedicated ourselves and increased that account to S 10,000. As seniors, the best part of being in the Class of ' 86 is that we ' re all different, but could harmoniously work together and experience the art of the American Mosaic. We have had a terrific class with great advisors and hope that future classes will continue in our footsteps and go beyond our accomplishments. PS. Over the past year, as advisor to our yearbook, she has been behind us one hundred percent. Mrs. Hastings was always there to back us to the fullest, and to lead us through those few times when we needed coaxing. Like us , Mrs. Hastings was new to the year- book and it was a learning process for all of us. Without her commitment and patience to our cause, the publication of this yearbook would have been quite impossible. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish to thank Mrs. Hastings for all that she has done.
