We were all new to the school with much to learn, and over the years we have grown together. Under Mr. Sullivan’s leadership, Quabbin has made great progress towards fullfilling the “virtually unlimited poten- tial’’ he described in his 1976 yearbook message. Quabbin students feel pride in their school and their achievements, and the spirit which now marks QRHS stems from the total dedication that Mr. Sullivan has brought to his responsibili- ties as principal. Over the years Mr. Sullivan has always taken time to help us with our problems. When we needed someone to talk to, he was always there. In future years we will remember him for his committment to Quabbin and his compassion towards each of us. He has been principal, guide and friend to the first class to have completed its years at Quabbin under his administration. Mr. Sullivan, with love and respect the Class of 1981 dedi- cates its yearbook to you. James A. Massa has given to the Class of “81 many unique gifts. Now as we prepare to bloom out of our protective Quabbin covering, we feel a need to show a small token of the love and respect felt for our advisor and friend. He wasn ' t and isn’t the advi- sor who would do all the work for us but instead the man who set us on our own to stumble and pick our- selves up again, learning not only how to succeed but also how to deal with failure. Opening our minds to new experiences and ideas, Mr. Massa has been a living example that only through daring to be differ- ent can we ever grow! Again thanks for getting us started on our journey! The Exodus Staff of 81 would like to take this time to thank Mrs. Cathleen Scanlan our yearbook advisor. Mrs. Scanlan gave us guidance in creating our own unique year- book. When we came up with new ideas Mrs. Scanlan enthu- siastically helped us make these ideas become a reality. When we were in total frustration and confusion this remark- able la dy pulled us out. The yearbook staff has great respect and admiration for Mrs. Scanlan. Again we thank her for all her work. As each of us begins our several different journey ' s into our so- called adult lives, we leave Quabbin with much satisfaction. Not only has the school made lasting impres- sions upon us but we also feel we have left our mark of togetherness, uniqueness, and love all combined. We realize that we’re not always recognized for our “matureness” but more often for our zaniness which usually brings on happiness. We hope that as a class our memo- ries will linger, that we may always look to the past and also to the future, remaining “Still crazy after all these years!” 15 tfie k£iff o Sacia- c Wt io CA oicf CL% C icoHe atuC aui itii a (xf ail i tsc ca s . . l c a ftt CtitH d iC o«:£: i ea s QaS cl u A£ li c Co-MUdic • iiA tt 3 j i£t oit4t £ ' e5...s u cr- a . 16 Se«tco Nickname ■ Aldo Likes Louise, autumn, wrestling, hats, southern rock, weekends, the woods Dislikes wrestling practice, people who think they know everything, ■’skunks. Trask, Superintendent Principal’s Message: The Class of 1981 has made a very special contribution to Quabbln Regional Junior-Senior High School over the past SIX years through both its commitment to excellence and enthusiastic drive to be a cut above the ordinary. When I arrived at Quabbin six years ago the Class of ' 81 arrived with me and in the years that have followed I have observed your progress and growth with a warm feeling of pride and pleasure. In many respects you are to me what teen-agers ideally should be — fun-seeking and life-enjoy- ing, yet in possession of a sense of purpose and direction which one day will allow you to play a responsible role in life. You have provided positive leadership within our school and you have set a standard against which the classes that follow will be measured for years to come. Leadership has been your dominant quality and you have demonstrated unusual courage and conviction as a group to do the right thing regardless of peer pressure and the need to be “cool.” Most Importantly, you are very nice people and Quabbin is the richer for having known you; we shall miss you greatly, ' 81 — thanks for the memories!
