HA 1 . ■1 1 ■PH gar-- ' . . - j 1 ] j T waft As we, the class of 1980, near graduation, we look to the new decade as the dawn of a new beginning. Although there may be many problems facing us, we hold many hopes and expectations for the future. We are aware that the world is greatly dependent on our accom- plishments, and we are ready to reach out and accept this challenge with confidence. While the sun rises on the new decade, our high school days become part of the past. We hope that our yearbook will serve as a remembrance of the happy times that we spent while at Quabbin. We were always greeted by the friendly and encourag- ing smile of Mrs. Catherine Murray whenever we entered the guidance office. As secretary of the guidance depart- ment, she was more than willing to talk with us and to offer us the assistance that we needed. With great care she made sure that both our college and our job applications were completed correctly and sent in on time. The future years of our lives will be greatly influ- enced by those responsibilities that she accepted on our behalf. In appreciation of her care and concern, we dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Murray. 12 Mr. Gauld ' s concern about the future of the environ- ment is expressed through his teaching. His love and care for nature are valuable feelings for the age in which we live. The personal interest that he has for each of his students made his classes very enjoyable for us. He invited us to become more interested in nature, and in doing so, he helped us to appreciate it, and to prepare for the decisions about our environment that we must make as adults. In recognition of the valuable contribution that he is making to his school and to his society, we dedicate this yearbook to Mr. William Gauld. 13 Yearbook Editors: Maureen Crowley, Copy Editor; john Reidy, Editor-in-Chief; Stephanie Wlodarc- zyk, Photography Editor; Maureen Castriotta, Ed i - tor-in-Chief; Kelly Wypych, Typing Editor; Kathy Woodland, Advertising Editor; Lisa Brown, Art Edi- tor. As our yearbook advisor, she taught us how to put together a meaningful book which expresses ourselves and our days at Quabbin. Always willing to put in extra work, she showed us what the term dedicated really means. Her energy and cheerfulness lifted our spirits when things went wrong, and encouraged us to try harder. In gratitude of her hard work and warm friendship, we offer her this special thank you. The class of 1980 would like to thank Mrs. McConigle for the contributions that she has made to us as individuals and as a whole. As our class advisor she has guided and supported us through many fund raising projects and activi- ties. With her help we have pulled together into a unified body. In return for the friendship and concern that she has shown us, we would like to extend to her both our gratitude and our appre- ciation. 16 ■ ■ ' t ' Cx mWmmm ' ■ ’ -Nr v- . a ■ HI Mill HM SENIORS April 19, 1962 It is better to have one friend of worth than many worth nothing.
