1 . RARRe TOVVH I ' RARV Barr® Mcis chu3« And as we drift a little further from the shore like the seas ever-more Fm the ivy that clings round your door When you wake up you will find that youVe not where you left yourself As the Class of 1979, Quabbin has been part of our lives for the last 6 years. Much of what we are and how we think comes from the experiences that we have shared here. Now that graduation is upon us, it is a time to gather up what we have learned and to move on “to this new world of ours . . .” When we move beyond Quabbin we will discover new aspects of the world and of ourselves as we continue to grow. Although we often forget our junior high years, it was an important time in our development. Looking back we realize how fortunate we were to have had the influence of such a patient and understanding teacher as Mrs. Jacqueline Taylor in those years. Her ready smile and friendly greeting helped us to feel better about ourselves. Her willingness to organize junior high activities and her insistence that we master what she taught showed her concern for us. In appreciation for her patience and understanding and for remaining our friend we dedicate this yearbook to her. K Mr. Richard Lyon is a teacher who has helped us to develop good attitudes towards learning. With a quick wit and a real concern for his students, he has made his classes enjoyable and stimulating. He has also given his time and energy as a coach and as a welcome chaperone at our activities. In appreciation for being our teacher and our friend we dedicate this yearbook to him. 13 Yearbook Staff and Editors Yearbook Editors; Seated; Nancy Hubbard, Editor-in-Chief. Our class started the ninth grade like most classes, a little unorganized. We had not yet become a unified body. Mrs. Thombs helped us to do that. She made us realize that to get anything done we had to learn to work together and under her guidance we have worked in cooperation. Mrs. Thombs spent many hours with us planning one of the most beautiful proms Quabbin has ever seen. Her time and energy was a big part of “Meatball Mania”, our very successful spaghetti supper. And this year she pulled us together again to plan and produce a wonderful day on the common, the Senior Apple Bazaar. She has been a help to us from beginning to end in everything we have accomplished. — With gratitude and appreciation — The Class of 1979 SENIOR SUPERLATIVES Best Actors; Andrea and Greg, Most Gullible: Cindy and Kevin, Best Artists: Joann and David, Most Likely to Succeed: Charlene and Donny, Most Radical: Nancy and Frank, Most Sophisticated; David and Charlene, Best Looking: Brian, David, Kathy and Bill. 92 Christopher M.
