Now is the time to choose one of the diverging roads which will take us differ- ent ways, to separate destinations and new challenges. Some have a determina- tion to make their own roads and others will be content walking the worn paths. The memories of our journey together will be cherished all our hves; hopefully this book will be a service to memory. 3 We have explored the avenues open to us at Quabbin . . . 4 Albert Cormier Daisy Widing The staff of Exodus 77 wishes to, dedicate this yearbook to two very deserving people . . . We dedicate our yearbook to Albert Cormier in thanks for the personal concern he has shown each of us. The influence of his friendship and his advice will be felt throughout our lives. Because of him the roads to our futures are now much clearer. We dedicate our yearbook to Daisy Widing, a woman whose hard work often goes unrecognized. Her warm smile and cheerful character help to make the main office a pleasant place to visit. By handling with warmth and patience all the details of our high school experience, she helps to make our days at Quabbin ones we will fondly remember. 5 6 7 10 11 13 14 YEARBOOK STAFF AND EDITORS Yearbook Editors — Kneeling: O. Stymiest. 103 ADMINISTRATION “In the long run, men hit only what they aim at.” Henry Thoreau In this our tenth year as a regional high school, my records show that we will have graduated nearly 1300 students and ex- pended approximately 14 million dollars since our school became operatio nal in 1967. Our dedication adopted the theme “An In- vestment in Youth” and having been a part of the school and its programs since the early beginning I am happy to express my confidence that we have indeed invested wisely. We have ample testimony and evidence that our high school has gained an envia- ble reputation. We have pride in our achievement records in athletics, music and in a variety of academic activities. We are known throughout the state of Massachusetts as a school that seeks high standards and accomplishes quality performances. Our staff is active outside of the school system as well as inside and is looked upon with respect as curriculum instructional lead- ers. I am most proud and happy with the abundance of friendliness and humane spirit that permeates the halls and classrooms of Quabbin. We have many worthwhile goals for a high school, but the ultimate priority should always be that of helping each other strive for quality in life. Corridon F. Trask Jr. I have had the pleasure of being at Quabbin for nine of its ten years. During that time I have seen our school go through the “growing pains” that have been prevalent with most regional schools. We have now outgrown those “pains” and have established a school that we can all be proud of — a fine staff, an excellent curriculum — and most of all, an exceptional student body that makes Quabbin Regional High School one of the best comprehensive high schools of its size in the state. May our next ten years be as successful and regarding as the past ten. Donald F. Raffier The 1976-77 school year marks the tenth year of operation for Quabbin Regional High School. While such a milestone often prompts reflection upon the past, I nevertheless find it more meaningful to address myself to problems and challenges of the future. Quabbin is a school with great potential and possesses a staff and student body which are capable of realizing and fulfilling this potential. Renewed emphasis is being placed upon the teaching of basic skills and a significant change has been made in gradua- tion requirements which will add meaning and prestige to the Quabbin diploma. Members of the Class of 1977 should take pride in the fact that they are Quabbin graduates, and I hope that each of you as individuals will make a personal commitment to work with us in your new capacity as alumni as we proceed in our continued search for excellence. Leo J. Sullivan The past decade has been one of change and accomplishment, not only in our total society, but at Quabbin Regional as well. You, too, have grown and changed. You came here as young boys and girls, and now leave as young men and women. My wish is that you leave with a sense of accomplishment and pride, and that you continue to grow and accomplish all that you desire.
