Like most things in life, a high-quality school system does not just happen. It in- volves inspiration, effort, and sacrifice. This fact we acknowledge; therefore, we wish to extend our dedication to the following: For Inspiration- -To members of the Regional Planning Committees and their supporters who saw in the regional concept a solution to the educational problems confronting their respective towns. Those who served included Weikko Holopainen (Chairman), Robert Dill, and Norman Gallagher from Hubbardston; James Chiller! (Treasurer), Leroy Dawson and Gilbert Upham from Barre; Roger Lonergan (Vice- Chairman), Max Kuhner, and Willard Rutherford from Oakham; and Jos eph Valardi (Secretary), Dr. Charles Hinckley, and Mrs. Stephanie Socha from Hardwick. For Effort --To past and present members of the Quabbin Regional School Committee for the countless hours involved in district plan- ning, school construction, curriculum development, staff selection, and creation of school policy. Former members of the committee include John Bentley, Wayne Cauvin, John Ciccone, Paul Jordan, and Louis Panaccione from Barre; John Eysenbach, Dr. Charles Hinckley, and Mrs. Chloe Moriarty from Hardwick; and from Hubbardston, Richard Lyon, Jr. Of great assistance to the Quabbin Regional School Committee in the drawing up of educational specifications was Dr. Charles L, Bowlby, consultant and first superintendent. For Sacrifice --To the citizens of Barre, Hardwick, Hubbardston, and Oakham for their willingness to provide and support a high- quality educational system for their sons and daughters as an In- vestment in Youth. We, the Class of 1968, are indeed grateful for having the opportunity to be the First graduating class of Quabbin Regional High School.
