Providing students with a knowledge of history and the world were the Social Studies Department goals. Ju- niors were familiarized with US History while seniors were required to participate in a semester of Civics. Anthropology, Economics, Psychology, and Sociology were also offered as electives. 1. if Science The Science Department had many ways for students to expand their knowledge of science. Every student was required to take a course in physical science before he finished high school. Many chose to take biology in their sophomore yearg however, others chose to take practical physics or electricity to fulfill their require- ment.
