Business Many students took courses in the Business Depart- ment. Typing, Accounting, Shorthand, Graphic Arts, and Distributive Education were just a few of the classes offered in the Business Department. Consumer Economics was offered to those students interested in the way our economic system works. Those people planning on a career in a secretarial field could take Secretarial Science and Simulated Office Experience which gave them the chance to find out what it was like to work in an office. Graphic Arts was also offered for those students interested in printing. These students were responsible for printing the Vanguard along with many other programs and pamphlets throughout the year. 1. Music The Music Department gave students with musical talents the chance to learn more about music through class work and perform- ing. Band, Orchestra, and Choir were offered along with special interest courses such as Norselanders, Valkyries, and Stage Band.
