CLASS of 1947 . INNING the junior high season ticket drive, eighth grade division I-7 established tor the class of 1947 the reputation ot being wide awake and able. The other eighth grade divisions also came through the contest with flying colors, their percentages being unusually high. Among the varied projects undertaken by the eighth grade this year were the col- lecting of scrap metal to aid in scrapping the Axis and the buying ot war stamps with the money ordinarily used to purchase division emblems. Large emblems were, however, displayed in each division home room, adding a bright spot of color to the blackboards. President of the eighth grade divisions were Charles Sparks of I-6, Charles Gordon of I-7, Paul Names ot I-8, Vern Hill of I-9, and Earl Packer of I-10. Representing the class of 1947 in student government were Bruce Hunt, the efficient vice-president of the Iunior High Boys' Club, and energetic Sue McKinney, the junior high student body yell queen. The eighth graders were ably advised this year by Miss Verona McKittrick I 6 Miss Marian Cleveland I 7 Mrs Maude Iacobs I 8 Miss Laura Butler I 9 and Mr Donald Croy I9 Cdi ision p esd ntsl M Croy fadvise 25 I-10. FV '11 FRESHMEN Center lront M Wasmund Cad tsel D White Cp esidentl Neeley I ce p esidentl Kallg en tsecretaryl Dre ty ll l d J Mss Schetln Miss McK1ttr1ck tad se sl CLASS of 1946 APTUBING first place in the season ticket drive the Freshmen early in the year estab lished their reputation as real leaders Since few Freshman classes have ever Won this contest additional bouquets should go to the class of 1946 for its initiative Accepting the responsibility for the leadership of the class was capable Dick White class president who was assisted by Iim Neely the vice presldent Keeping the minutes of lass meetings and collecting dues were two of the duties of secretary Kathleen Kallgren while vivacious Mitzy Drew led class yells with dash and drive With the same enthusiasm as that shown in the season ticket drive the Freshmen contributed to the annual stunt assembly an up to date act depicting Puyallup as the Allies with Sumner as the villainous Axis Aided by the Second Front and a lew popguns Puyal lup won the victory to the tune of Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition Credit for this stunt goes to the committee which mcluded Betty Leavitt Donna Iennings Buster Brouillet and David Scheyer As leaders of the Junior high the Freshmen took an active part in music drarnatics and athletics not to mention student government. Advisers for the Class of 1946 were Mr. Wasmund Miss Scheitlin Miss Bowen and Miss McKittrick. 24
