IUNTOPS Center fro Haynes I Le is Cyell leadej Fed ckson Csec etaryb iss Cat on ladvise sl CLASS of 1944 ERE HERE' Well core' l 9 4 4' And the Juniors certainly scored in the season ticket drive by coming in with a high second This achlevement was merely a pre lude to the stunt assembly where the class of 1944 took top honors with their original football game between the Axis and the Allies Led by General MacSpooner the Puyal lup Allies triumphed with their V formation over the swastika line up of the Sumner Axis which was captained by l'oJo Ruffin and coached by Pop Keeny Hitler This clever stunt was organized by the Junior committee composed of Kenny Spooner Emile Gamble Natalie Bunn Dick Porenta Ienny Lewis Trafford Hubert Gener Palmer and Iewel Russell ln Ianuary a large number of Juniors turned out for the biggest class undertaking of the year the annual Junior play Rehearsals began promptly for the delightful fantasy Heaven Can Wait ln the leading role as Ioe Pendleton was Bill Revitt While Fred Barto and lack Schauble were double cast in the role of the famous Mr Iordan Miss Laura Butler directed the production lunior leaders worked actively in launching the Victory Corps in our high school Emile Gamble and lack Schauble assisted in pre entlng the program to the student body in an assembly held for the purpose Capable lunior class leaders this year were Emile Gamble who assumed the respon sibilities of president and Dick Haynes who acted as vice-president. Other offices were held by Alice Frederickson who carried out the duties of secretary and Ienny Lewis who served as junior class yell leader. Advising the class of 1944 were Miss Ursula Martin Miss Gladys Sorenson Mr. Marion Catron and Mr. Mark Whitman, 22
