Contents ACADEMICS .........,...............,.,....,. 12 Endeavoring to further the promise of youth and to broaden the scope of knowledge, the faculty and admin- istration work under the banner of a traditional school with a progressive outlook. Untrodden fields are in- troduced for exploration by inquisitive young minds through academic classes. Battling the competition of classes, students strive to uphold PC's scholastic rating. ORGANIZATIONS ................,.,........... 36 Involvement, created through participation in organi- zations, results in new interests leading to exploration in various fields. Putnam has clubs of math, foreign languages, medicine, electronics, anthropology and even a club to keep spirit and tradition alive. Well-organized clubs serve as a means of more closely' uniting the student body while being of service to individuals. SPORTS ...........,.,....................,. 110 Excitement of finishing third in state in football, the thrill of each basketball game, the relief of anxiety as our matmen win their match and the swimming meets are all a part of Putnam City's 'winter world of sports'. With spring come track, baseball and golf. Through sports, oneness is apparent as the school is united through spirit and loyalty displayed at each sporting event. STUDENT LIFE .............................. 136 Traffic jams inthe parking lot, spinning tires in the 'foot- ball field' on rainy days and conjested halls are one phase of life at PC. Another more favorable side of student life is being a participant in school functions such as as- semblies, student voting and pep club coronations. Each Putnamite's life is centered in the school and its activities as he plays his role in student life. C LASS ES ................................... 158 With seniors, juniors and sophomores working together, as well as competing in a friendly rivalry, PC can suc- cessfully complete worthwhile projects. Through class competition, seven tons of food was raised for families during Christmas. Class cooperation results in the pro- motion of world peace by raising the money for AFS students. Goals can be reached by unified classes. SENIOR ACTIVITIES ........................... 257 INDEX .... .... 2 64 2 haf ' .Wfgga 1 rrri s s qu ml? 5
