CHECKING attendance are Mr. Robert Buler, an- nex supervisor, and Mrs, Patsy Locke, secretary. COUNSELORS REVIEWING available college reference materials are Mrs. Nancy Gallop, junior counselor, and sophomore counselors, Mr. Charles Epperly and Miss Nona Cowan. Advisers plan and direct college testing program TODAY'S upperclassmen are prepared for tomorrow by junior- senior counselors Mrs. Juanita Kidd and Mr. Hugh Coonfield 2 TQ gf 6253 ffl? Q3 Words of encouragement and understanding advice which are often sufficient to aid a student along his chosen road to the future is the counselors goal. The counselor's job is not an easy one. They plan, administer, and score the ACT, PSAT, SAT, STEP, and the National Merit Tests. Struggling with the ever-expanding sophomore class as they adjust to the life at Putnam City are Miss Nona Cowan and Mr. Charles Epperly. Problems may range from teachers to romances, but with a little assistance, there is always a solution to be found. Miss Cowan keeps tabs on sophomores from A to K and Mr. Epperly attends to the remainder. Courses and plans for the future become important as students enter the junior year. Willing to listen and offer suggestions. Mrs. Juanita Kidd and Mrs. Nancy Gallop open their office to the middleclassmen. Mr. Hugh Coonfield is besieged each year with recom- mendation letters and application forms in his position as college advisor. Aiding Mr. Coonfield is a large library of pamphlets on most of the universities in the nation. Con- ferences with parents and college-bound students occupy much of his time and he serves as an invaluable guide to the future in securing scholarships and career information. 17
