'SHADE HER SHOULDER TO COME FORWARDU Students act as models for the art classes. Mrs. Thompson is shown giving her students some pointers on Figure drawing in charcoal. The art department has the re- sponsibility of making posters For all events and has the supervising of the school fairs. Mrs. Thompson serves as sponsor for the Four H Club and the junior class. HAVOID USING PENCIL TOO HLAVlLY.u In her drama classes Mrs. Wear teaches the art of make-up, using stu- dents as models. The class watches her transform a youngster of sixteen to an old person of sixty years of age. All highschool plays are under her direc- tion. Mrs. Wear teaches junior English and speech besides sponsoring the jun- ior class and the student council. ha 'SUSTAIN THAT SOFTLYW WNow just hold that half note a little longer, students', says Mrs. Anna V, Grant East, who has charge of the Girls Glee Club and Mixed Chorus of the school Mrs. East came to Putnam three years ago and has presented several operettas. She has made the Putnam City students nusic conscious and has proven to them that you do not have to be a sissy to sing in an organization.

'GO THROUGH THIS END' Every morning during football sea- son you will find the football boys in Coach Frost's room For a chalk talk. This practice is called Uskull practiceu in which the boys learn their plays and positions. As athletic director Mr. Frost has complete charge of all athletic events for Putnam City High School. 'DOES IT HURT,PETE?n The part played by Assistant Coach AQ 'WATCH THAT MAN, HARMON:' Here we see coach Terrill prepar- ing to send a man into play. Few people realize the importance of the coach play ing the game from the bench. It is from here that a game is strategically played by the coach just as a general, behind the lines, directs a battle. Peters in the training of Putnam's bas- to many stud- kctball spuad is unknown ents. He makes sure that no player in- jures himself by playing on a sprained ankle or some other such injury with- out its being correctly taped, Mr, Peters is also the head of the commer- cial department in which he teaches typing, bookkeeping, and shorthand.
