Tractor Pull The Purdue Tractor Pull Foundation annually sponsors a nationally sanctioned tractor puB. In 1981 sixty to seventy tractors competed for over $19,800 in prize money. The Foundation is a non-profit organization, and aH of its profits go toward scholarships. Competition in the Purdue Tractor Pull consists of pulling a sixty thousand pound weight as far as possible down a three hundred foot track. Rated by the pullers themselves, Purdue's pull was ranked the sixth best in the nation. Pulling, by all means, is not the only event. In order to get more students involved, the Foundation included in the weekend plans such events as the man pull, the keg throw, and the women's tricycle race. Protoi by Bon Boitov
