Have you heard the noisy clatter in the Sweetshop every morning or the gong of the bell when class is out or the hushed stillness of the campus in the evening or the crackle of a fire outdoors? . .. Have you felt the deep frustration of a wholly fruitless effort or the satisfaction of a job well done or the warmth of a lasting friendship or that certain feeling for someone. . . Can you see all this in but one swift glance? The answer is simple: of course you cannot!
