Board of Trustees To protect and enrich the future of the University: it is for this purpose that the Board of Trustees is constantly at work, Included in this years achievements were projects devoted to expansion, development, and recognition of higher learning. The Trustees joined with those of Indiana University in plans for an extension center in Fort Wfayne to be used by both schools. Through the efforts of the board. Purdue has become the center for the Midwest Airborne Television Instruction experiment. Finally, the Board es- tablished a University sponsored program of Distinguished Professorships, using a special fund of the Purdue Research Foundation to finance the project. 28 Each year the State Budget Committee meets with University othcials to appraise Purdue's financial status and future plans.
