These prominent personalities were assisted by other variety acts to provide good entertainment at low prices for enthusiastic audiences. Winning first prize on one of Arthur Godfrey’s talent shows started the Chordettcs on their climb to singing success. Popular with Purdue students, the Four Freshmen appeared on a billing with Ix-s Elgart, voted the most prominent swing band. Bob Hope, famous comedian, relaxes between shows in the Green Room.
