Sometime during your struggle with technical problems and philosophies, you realized that education is more than a complete mastery ot written matter. You discovered that participation gives meaning to principles, that the active voice is stronger than the passive. So you turned to activities. Meeting and mingling with people in a halt-business, half-social atmosphere added substantially to your experience in living. You gradually knew that learning to live and to cooperate with others forms a basic part of the well-educated man. Recognizing their value, you found in activities that needed something-extra, but essential. 9
