After eight seMcsters of midnight oil and mononucleosis, the seniors made their last bid for fame. Fall Weekends, the Cord Parade . . . jA. nticipntion was the keynote as the balmy weather turned brisk and the wind blew colder. Bearing comments and pictures on our cords, we carried our school's float to the stadium. Joe Friday, with the help of the Electrical Engineers, copped first place. 28

Convocations To put tlu final touch on our Thanksgiving weekend, the Hall of Music was filled with the voices and music of Fred Waring and his Pennsylvanians. The variety presented was enough to satisfy the tastes of everyone. In addition to the melodic fare offeree! the audience, the evening’s entertainment was enhanced by the humor which Mr. Waring aimed at the latecomers. Fred Waring directed a delightful show of variety, music and song. The Music Hall Was Host To Many Famous People Catching us in a once-in-a-lifetime mood after our exciting victory over Michigan State, Bob Hope opened his bag of tricks to entertain us. Using his ever-readv stock of jokes and a few bars of quavery crooning. Boh provided a hilarious end to a successful day. Boh Hope and Jerry Desmond plotted to tickle Boilermaker ribs.

Football! In the stands and on the field, the spirit of competition was keyed to a fcvei pitch. . . . Meant Football in the Air! Ross-Ade Stadium hosted the best elevens in the country as the Boilermakers battled their way through the toughest of schedules. Band music, cheerleaders, and a fighting team combined to make these Saturdays long remembered spectacles.
