With Autumn Came The Migration Forsaking home cooking, good paying jobs, and summer romances, we joined the migration to West Lafayette to begin another era in our education. We finally arrived, but much enthusiasm had been dulled by miles of travel. Sorting out old friends, meeting new ones, and deleting those pinned and engaged eased the dilemma of getting situated. And from this were to make a happy home? Now ma'am, which way is the freight door? The Times That Try Men s Souls Four bare walls and a clean floor presented a challenge in interior decoration that we met in our own individual way. This task, coupled with the pain of unpacking, kept our cubicle in a general state of disorder for the next few days. Bulletin boards, lamps, stuffed animals, and other useful items scattered in various places created a chaotic scene which, with few changes, was to Ik our home for the next nine months.

The Purdue Story, As You Lived It —A Narrative Covering The Events That Went Into Its Making fmir year at Purdue was a blending of outs ta ml ini' events, insignificant happenings, and a multitude of intangible impressions that were there, and yet were not. You returned in September, full of hopes and expectations for the coming year, and watched with eyes of the worldly wise the organized confusion of the freshmen. You followed them through registration, watched them become absorbed in the life of the school, molding their part of the Purdue Story. You studied. You became part of the scholastic life of the University. You relaxed. You took part in spontaneous parties and bull sessions, marched in the Senior Cord Parade, threw your derby into the air at the football game, and thrilled to the sight of the breakaway runner. You tramped through the snow and cold of winter, but welcomed the social season that it introduced. You took part in many events, and before you realized it. the coming of spring heralded the loginning of the end of another year. This is the Purdue Story, a story of your life at Purdue, an attempt to express in words and pictures a certain something, a single feeling born of the thoughts you've had and the people you’ve met, a unique situation—the story of a year, the way you lived it. The old and the new, both went to make up the Purdue Story.
