.qui .i CHIEF OF STAFF Torches burn--students shoutfbells ringfand through the cheering crowd comes the Boilermaker Special, carrying our Prexy , Dr Edward Charles Elliott, We are fortunate to have a man who not only is nationally recognized as a leader in the field of education, but who feels our victories and defeats as deeply as any of his students f-lis whole-hearted support and his sincere interest in all campus activi- ties are exemplified by the spirit of our student body -they reflect his enthusiasm. Dr. Elliott must experience a surge of pride and sate isfaction as he looks back over his nineteen years as president of Purduefunder his guidance, our en- rollment has grown from 3,110 to 7,l2l-our campus has expanded with new buildings and equipment.
