However. this particular hit of crys- tal gazing is to he recorded in the 1936 DEBRIS. Which fact insures a certain immunity forthe maker of omens. More than ever there is firmness to my conviction that Purdue. in the years immediately ahead. is destined to hecome better. This does not neces- sarily signify increase in student population. nor additional structures of hrick and stone. Rather that there will he a more careful selection of stu- dents whose amhitions. attitudes and ahilities entitle them to thorough train- ing. Furthermore. that training will he more and more directed to qualify- ing men and women for efficient public service. The hest guarantee for the Purdue of the future is that the hest use he made of the Purdue of the present.
